Travel Log: The Mira Hong Kong

The Mira Hotel encapsulates everything cool about Hong Kong. Chic, sophisticated, hip, and infinitely stylish; I imagine it’s the type of hotel where a James Bond villain would stay.

We recently had the opportunity to stay in this hotel and have nothing but good things to say about it. Just opposite the Hong Kong shopping mecca, the Mira Mall, the hotel is rather subdued looking from the outside.

Once inside an ultra modern lobby greets you. There’s dance music playing as the reception staff is quick to help you with luggage. Check in is quick and done via an iPad.

The room’s have a heavy mid-century modern influence that a Man Men fan would appreciate. In typical Hong Kong fashion, there are too many gadgets to master and see-through walls to the bathroom, which add an extra level of sophistication.

Some rooms overlook the green space of Kowloon Park and it’s just a short walk from the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Cultural Center, the Hong Kong Space Museum, the Avenue of Stars, and Victoria Harbour.

The pool is perhaps the finest I ever swam in. Just look at it! Doing the backstroke and staring up at the shifting lights on the ceiling is probably one of the most relaxing moments of my life. I could keep going on and on about the hotel, but I suggest you check it out for yourself.
